I too saw The Boss last summer at a sweaty summer musical festival, Bonnaroo, that I imagine is a quite a lot like your Glastonbury. My friend and I were running a bit late to the show so were forced to dash through the crowd of 30,000 or so and rush the stage in a fairly aggressive manner. Needless to say, we didn't make a lot of crowd buddies, but boy of boy, the moment Bruce took the stage, our guilt over having crushed more than a few toes was wiped away. The show was gritty and sexy and flashy as always, and just to top it off in only a way The Boss can, halfway through the set (in the middle of June mind you), Bruce and the band break off into their classic cover of "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town". And man, was that crowd confused! Bruce and I, for a moment, locked eyes, and I knew he knew I was in on the joke.

I think your ticket to Bruce will be to place yourself in the crowd precisely so as to accompany him on stage, a la Courtney Cox, during "Dancing in the Dark". Bruce is a progressive guy, and I think it's high time he branch out from the only girls dance in the dark thing.

Great list Steve.

I have yet to thank you for tuning me into Bruce. I must admit, I was one of those who thought of him as a "flag-beating" twat until I heard your show, and you have converted me into devoted fan of The Boss. So thank you.

Wow. That Bill Callahan song is heartbreaking. Love it.

But most surprising, as a Yank who has never attended Glasto, is the fact that dozens of people in the crowd are blocking the view of the Boss with their stupid flags and banners. 'Fury' would by my name if I paid cash money to sleep in a muddy field, in a tent I borrowed from my Girl Scout niece, just to have absolutely no visibility of the stage. You're a better man than me Steve.
